It’s incredibly important to hire designers and builders who have a good reputation, are trustworthy, and are known for doing quality work on schedule. Be sure to ask the right questions so that you can make the best, most informed decision when hiring for your job. Set a desired budget and timeline.

To avoid frustration and surprise bills, have an idea of a budget and timeline you expect to be honored in mind when you meet with designers, builders, and/or contractors the first time you meet. You can always make changes along the way as you see fit, but getting everyone involved on the same page about your expectations in these areas from the beginning is a good idea.
